These are the very first impressions our guests experience as they approach Tenuta La Valle<\/strong>, along the tree-lined avenue winding through the green Alta Maremma countryside just a few kilometres from Bolgheri and Castiglioncello.<\/p>\n

Whilst conserving the charm of its past, our estate has acquired new lease of life following an extensive renovation project that has transformed it into an elegant venue for weddings, which need an intimate, welcoming atmosphere, for ceremonies, private functions, and of course relaxing holidays and short breaks in Tuscany.<\/p>\n

The history of our estate is the story of a family<\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]More than a century of history surrounds Tenuta La Valle<\/strong>, which was built at the end of the 1800s<\/strong> and comprises two<\/strong> antique villas<\/strong>: the main house – Villa Padronale – and Villa Gambino. They sit at the heart of over 90 hectares of land. At the beginning of the 1900s<\/strong>, Gennaro Zolli, a lawyer, fell in love with this stunning spot and decided to buy the estate from Count Mastiani, to then hand it down to his children, grand-children and future generations.<\/p>\n

In 1936<\/strong>,<\/strong> Rachele, the last of Gennaro’s three children, inherited the property and ran it for almost 50 years, conserving the antique beauty of the villas and the park. Rachele Zolli dedicated her life to preserving her Tenuta<\/em> and persevered in its reconstruction after suffering heavy bombing during WWII. The romantic chapel<\/strong> which now also forms part of the estate was an addition she made to face adversity with optimism and hope: \u201cI want this place, which has been reduced to ruins of war, to <\/em>become <\/em>one of peace and calm. Where hate has hit us hardest, we will build a symbol of love\u201d.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

Complete renovation works<\/strong> on the two villas has enabled the original charm and architectural features of the estate, down to the flooring and the vats in the cellars, to be preserved through time. Gennaro Coviello, Rachele Zolli’s third son, is particularly recognised for the development and completion of the interior furnishings, from the second half of the 1980s.<\/p>\n
